If you follow me on social media, you’ve heard me go ON about chatbots. I love them. I truly do.
Using ManyChat, I am able to build a bot that can interact and answer questions if someone is on my site and needs to ask. It’s quicker than having them search for your “Contact” page, or find you on social media – you presence is right there, and if they message you, it goes directly to your Facebook Page’s inbox (Business Pages, not personal pages).
Don’t make people figure out how to get in touch with you, unless you don’t want them getting in touch…
Here is how to install a simple piece of code that will activate your customer service bot. I’m not going to go into detail in this blog about how to build the bot, because I’m creating a free chatbot course that will go over this in detail. For now, you can shoot my bot a message to let me know you want to know when this free course is live!
To Install the code on your WordPress website:
- Install & activate the plugin, “Insert Headers and Footers.”
- From your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Settings > Insert Headers & Footers
To Install the code on your Squarespace website:
- Navigate from the main menu after logging in, and go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection
Here is what the code will look like (from my Your First Freelance Client Course).
You will then want to visit your site and test it to make sure the bot is activated. If you see the little Messenger bubble, you’re good to go! Feel free to test it, chat with it, etc. to get an idea of the experience your website visitors will get.
One cool thing about having this customer chat bubble is if anyone messages you from it, you can include them in a Facebook Ads audience of their own, in addition to retargeting your website traffic. If someone is messaging you, they are probably very WARM so you want to make sure you’re following up and reminding them you exist!
